The wingspan of the birds is 16 inches. They are molded in Pellucida, our proprietary compound of resins that is similar to translucent Bisque porcelain, but more durable. Including the polished burlwood base, the piece is about 20 inches wide and 20 inches tall. It is SIGNED and comes with a CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY.
- Some ASSEMBLY is required. The birds have to be inserted on the wires - no glue needed.
- Direct from the John Perry Studio in California – 100% hand-made in the USA.
- The stylized graceful simplicity of these birds fit the image of the iconic bird in Richard Bach's best selling book Jonathan Livingston Seagull, and helped the Studio get off to a flying start in 1972. Selling continuously since, one might say they have become a classic.
- The base is a polished manzanita burl, responsibly harvested only from private lands where needed for fire protection brush clearance.
