This is a Genuine VMS Racing (NOT Generic) 4340 Chrome Moly (Chromium Molybdenum) REAR TOW HOOK . Chrome Moly has an excellent strength to weight ratio and is considerably stronger and harder than standard 1020 steel. In order for you to gain a reference, 4340 Chrome Moly is typically used in aircraft landing gear, power transmission gears and shafts and other structural parts. This VMS Racing Tow Hook will fit 1997 through 2004 Corvette C5 and Z06. VMS Racing Tow Hook is very lightweight and an easy to install solution for a REAR TOW HOOK on your 1997 through 2004 Corvette C5 and Z06. 4340 Chrome Moly was used for the ultimate strength to weight ration available. The Tow Hook was then POWDER-COATED RED for durability and for HIGH VISIBILITY for the safety crew to easily find it. The VMS Racing REAR C5 Tow Hook will bolt onto the existing holes that are on the frame. The VMS Racing Tow Hook sandwiches between the stock exhaust hanger and the frame. The factory studs for the exhaust are sufficiently long enough to accomplish installation. The VMS Racing Tow Hook can be mounted on either the right or left side of the car.
